In addition to her training as a historian, Lisa has flown millions of miles for Delta as a flight attendant where she enjoys meeting and learning the stories of others.

Amy Durrell

.Amy Durrell approaches history by looking at the landscape of a place and thinking about what life was like there. She has been thinking about Atlanta’s history since landing a job on the top floor of the iconic Candler Building in 1986, where she had a bird’s eye view to study Atlanta and the people living here. Amy’s interest is Public History and she completed Georgia State University’s Masters of Heritage Preservation program with a focus on stories of Georgia.

Amy has led tours by foot and by bicycle to consider Atlanta stories and explore questions ranging from the role of women in the city to the stories of residential areas. She researches the history of rural schools in Georgia, including oral histories of Black students of the rural schools in Putnam County in the 1940s.

We start with a story.
